SHE BROKED
“So… you never loved me?” Zaira’s voice trembled, barely louder than a whisper, as if saying it too loudly would shatter what little hope she had left.
Arya didn’t hesitate. “No,” he said coldly, his face unreadable. “I never did.”
For a moment, the world went silent. Zaira felt something inside her crack—quiet, invisible, but painfully real. A single tear slipped down her cheek as she forced herself to ask, “And… may I know why?”
Arya exhaled, almost impatiently. “Because you’re a Muslim.”
The words hit her harder than a slap.
Zaira let out a hollow laugh, shaking her head in disbelief. “So now my religion is the problem?” Her voice grew stronger, laced with hurt and anger. “Tell me something, Arya—how is that even a problem? Religion is just a way to connect to God… and you know I’ve always believed in God, not the labels, not the divisions.”
Arya stayed silent, avoiding her gaze.
That silence broke her more than his words.
“Say something!” she cried, pushing him in frustration. “Tell me what’s wrong with my religion! Tell me!”
“Because I love someone else!” he finally snapped.
Everything froze.
Zaira’s hands dropped to her sides, her breath caught in her throat. She stared at him, unable to process what she had just heard.
Arya’s voice turned sharper, almost cruel now. “Yes, Zaira. I love Zoya. I always have.” He stepped closer, as if to make sure every word pierced her completely. “I never loved you… and I never will.”
Her lips parted, but no words came out.
“And no,” he continued, his tone colder than ever, “your religion isn’t the problem. It was just… convenient. An excuse.” He let out a bitter smile. “You were my way to get closer to her. That’s all you ever were.”
Zaira felt her heart shatter into pieces she knew she’d never be able to gather again.
“You get it now?” Arya said before turning away, walking out of her life as easily as he had entered it.
And just like that… he was gone.
Zaira stood there, numb, broken, drowning in a storm of betrayal, love, and disbelief.
But one question burned louder than the rest—
Would Zoya accept Arya, knowing her own sister loved him with everything she had?
Or…
Was this all part of a plan Zoya had written long before Zaira even realized she was in a story she was never meant to win?
What do you think happened 🤔
LOVE YOU GUYS
